Learning Outcomes_TER_MSc

The learning outcomes are defined in accordance with the mission and strategic objectives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and are harmonized with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the best European practices in higher education. Therefore, upon successful completion of Master studies in the Thermoenergetics and Renewable Energy program, the student will be able to:

  • Be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of key theories and concepts related to the field of Thermoenergetics and renewable energy;
  • Develop practical skills in the construction, design and implementation of thermal and renewable energy systems;
  • To have practical knowledge of a series of thermal power plants and modern systems for the use of renewable energy sources
  • To have practical knowledge of how to design thermal based plants;
  • Know and apply the planning and design procedures of renewable energy systems
  • To be able to integrate quickly and demonstrate the necessary competence in the working environment of enterprises in the field of thermotechnics and renewable energy
  • To demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in the decision-making process related to the selection and implementation of cost-effective projects in the field of Thermotechnics and renewable energy,
  • To demonstrate the ability to deal with engineering problems from the field of Thermoenergetics and renewable energy, in interaction with other related fields such as engineering economics and information technology
  • To practice the culture of professional cooperation not only with the profession in the field of Thermoenergetics and renewable energy but also with experts in the field of economy, legal and social
  • To demonstrate professional competence within working groups in public institutions charged with responsibility for planning and approving action documents and strategic documents in the field of energy
  • To design and draft procedures for securing necessary data for planning and managing processes in the field of Thermotechnics and renewable energy.

 

  • To perform professional, innovative and research work (describe and analytically formulate problems and solutions in the engineering and thermal and renewable energy sectors);
  • To analyze and manage the operation of central, local and individual heating/cooling systems;
  • To select and analyze heating energy and central heating plants and equipment alternatives to justify their technical and economic indicators;
  • To know and dimension different energy systems based on renewable energy sources;
  • Evaluate the types of energy and fuels, the variety, quality and options of use of applicable construction and insulation materials;
  • To make independent decisions, respect professional ethics and advance their professional development;
  • Take responsibility and manage and organize individual and team work;
  • Perform calculations, drawings and design various systems in the field of thermal energy and renewable energy;
  • Supervise central heating systems and the structure of thermal power plants (physical and technical principles of operation, working conditions and safety requirements);
  • To perform thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerodynamic measurements and calculations that are also related to the calibration, verification and testing of technological equipment.
