Learning Outcomes_TER

The learning outcomes are defined in accordance with the mission and strategic objectives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and are harmonized with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the best European practices in higher education. Therefore, upon successful completion of Bachelor studies in the Thermoenergetics and Renewable Energy program, the student will be able to:

  • To perform professional, innovative and research work (describe and analytically formulate problems and solutions in the engineering and thermal and renewable energy sectors);
  • To analyze and manage the operation of central, local and individual heating/cooling
  • systems;
  • To select and analyze heating energy and central heating plants and equipment alternatives to justify their technical and economic indicators;
  • To know and dimension different energy systems based on renewable energy sources;
  • Evaluate the types of energy and fuels, the variety, quality and options of use of applicable construction and insulation materials;
  • To make independent decisions, respect professional ethics and advance their professional development;
  • Take responsibility and manage and organize individual and team work;
  • Perform calculations, drawings and design various systems in the field of thermal energy and renewable energy;
  • Supervise central heating systems and the structure of thermal power plants (physical and technical principles of operation, working conditions and safety requirements);
  • To perform thermodynamic, hydraulic and aerodynamic measurements and calculations that are also related to the calibration, verification and testing of technological equipment.

The objectives of the Thermoenergetics and Renewable Energy program include:

  • Gaining knowledge by students about equipment, technologies and various processes of production, conversion, accumulation and utilization of energy from conventional and renewable energy sources
  • Gaining knowledge for the assessment, dimensioning, measurement, monitoring and research of different energy processes including technical, economic and environmental analysis
  • Gaining relevant knowledge regarding advanced research that serves sustainable energy solutions of the local committee and beyond
  • Further advancement of students' practical and research work and their connection to teaching
  • Preparing students for research and further studies in the field of thermal sciences and renewable energy sources
